DO NOT GO HERE!!! This place is terrible. I used them for a number of years because they were a mile from my house, but they were always overpriced and mediocre. They recently merged with another company, VCA. A couple of weeks ago I called to set up an appointment because my dog had a growth I wanted them to look at. I specifically asked for Dr. Davidson who had always seen her in the past. I also said that my dog may be due for shots and possibly blood work to check for kidney functioning (she’s 14 years old). So we set up the appointment at a time that Dr. Davidson was available. The conversation was a little strange and I didn’t know why it was for two weeks away which had never happened before. But we did it. I arrived at the appointment to be told that it was just a “lab” appointment and that Dr. Davidson was not available that day. There were two staff people at the front desk that were new. They were not at all helpful and didn’t seem to care at all that I had set up an appointment to see the doctor and she was not in. There was previously a man named George (I think) who was good and very helpful. My guess is that when they merged with (or bought) by VCA they changed staff. So I had to pay $284 and didn’t even see a vet, which was the main reason for the appointment. The woman at the front desk was rude about it. I had them email me my dog’s records so I can go elsewhere. I will NEVER go back there and I recommend you do not either. Shame on Dr. Davidson and Dr. Singh for allowing this poor service.

I’ve been a client of Aviara since 1984. Back when they were Aardvark Animal Hospital. In the last few years this place has changed quite a bit and not for the better of the clientele. It seems to have in part to do with them becoming a VCA affiliate. Pricing and service policies changed requiring more frequent visits that cost more. The top of frustration is the Office Manager Rochelle. She comes across harsh and even rude at times. Today I called to get my dog in because she appeared to have had a seizure. I called first thing in the morning they did not answer the phone and after fifteen minutes, they did not return my call, so I called back. I was rudely told they thought I went somewhere else. I didn’t understand then they said, I told them I wasn’t going there anymore. I told them no, but I was frustrated with Rochelle on my last visit with the way she talked over me. Gordon said, he works with Rochelle and respected her. THEN HE HUNG UP ON ME! I’ve now requested my records to be sent to Sandy Paws that is not VCA and are very pleasant. Do the doctors know what’s going on here? Update; The clinic posted a request for me to email them. So I did. It’s been 3 weeks since I emailed them and there has been no reply back. I’m not sure who at the clinic manages the Google reviews, but it just shows the continued lack of professionalism. I have attached the email I sent below. To whom it may concern, I see a response to my review has finally been posted. It seems to be colored for the view of others. If you want to have good/great reviews for your clinic you should take a good examination at what is going on in the front of the house. I have been a client with many pets through the years, going back to the mid 1980’s. At no time is it appropriate to hang up on a client, talk over a client, or be down right rude in front of other clients in the facility or on the phone. Nor is it acceptable to be cold and short when refusing to see one’s ill pet. This is not an issue that has come up recently, it’s been going on for some years and from reviewing all other Google reviews, it generally revolves around one person, Rochelle. How she has managed to stay employed there and has been promoted was something I asked myself many times, but then the answer came to me via Gordon’s comment and hanging up on me the last day I called the office. Others are afraid to speak up though they are witnesses to her negativity. Can you imagine how disheartening it was to witness my pet companion have a seizure in front of me and need medical care and advice and I get treated so cold and rudely? There was no act of professionalism conveyed in that phone response. Gordon should be ashamed of his unprofessional behavior. You have lost several good clients due to the behavior of Rochelle and like a cancer it obviously is spreading to those around her. This should be of great concern. People talk. The negative reviews are stories being told to friends and family. It’s referrals Aviara Animal Health will not get. Just as the one man put in caps “DON’T GO HERE!” You can be sure he shared his frustration with everyone he knows, especially those with pets. I have, and I know a lot of people. There are also those that Rochelle probably soured by her harsh attitude that didn’t place a Google review, but they still told their story at the hairdresser, the gym, church and friends and family. You really need to do something about her. I didn’t want to change veterinarians, I really like Dr. Singh. He SHOULD be made aware of the poison that’s happening to his business. Again, this is not an isolated incident. As Rochelle gets away with her bad interactions with clients it empowers her and others are taking suit. It’s very sad.

I took my newly adopted pup, Kusala to Aviara Animal Hospital a couple days ago and I was so impressed with how clean the office was, how absolutely kind the staff was, and how thorough the veterinarian and vet tech were with my dogs exam and care! I would highly recommend Aviara Animal Hospital to anyone in the area!

HORRIBLE customer service. NO PARKING! We had torrential rains and flooding in town and I was running 10 minutes late because I could not find a parking space. The receptionist calls and cancels. I was in the parking lot! This is a corporate owned shop and they DONT CARE about you or your sick dog.

This is the only place I'll take my cat to. I've been going here for 7 years now, and every time we're in for a visit they go above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of! When my older kitty died in 2020 they cared for her towards the end and sent us a beautiful condolences card with all their signatures when she passed. Clean, professional, and truly a family-type environment. Can't recommend these guys enough.
