Our Foster pup, Smokey, is a new patient with Bastet. We’ve had a great experience thus far. We had a brief concern when Smokey weighed in 6 lbs less than his original weight! Had him reweighed with same result. Voice our concern given we have been trying to put weight on…he’s a leggy 8 year old husky weighing in (originally) @ 47 lbs (41 on Bastet) Maybe put a sign by the scale? We were not told the scale was off around 5 lbs (even tho we voiced our concern to gal who weighed him and the vet tech who examined him) When the Vet came in…voiced concern to him and he immediately informed us about the scale. 🤪 That aside, the staff is friendly and helpful! The tech helped get Smokey into car after appt. Small,strip mall location, which I personally like. Don’t feel like you are paying for a fancy facility. Great vibe…obvious the entire staff are animal LOVERS.

Dr G and the entire Vet family treat our fur babies with so much love. Their knowledge and professional care make going to the vet so easy and stress free. We love our Vet family and trust them with all our “kids”.

At Bastet, they have taken care of us and we appreciate it. They have shown care and expertise for our animals. We started going to Bastet during 2020 when we had urgent needs for our dog and no one else would see her. Other vets tripled prices and had almost no hours or closes completely. Instead, they devised a system of having you wait in the car and calling in, then they come get your pet and you do the paperwork from the car. It works well and they are still doing it. You can go in if needed. I feel like this office is run how vets used to run before corporations ran many into the ground. It doesn't look great from the outside, but it's the people who are great. They respect our time, budget and pets. They are the good guys.

Brought my cat in for an annual exam and vaccine. Dr. G was very helpful in answering my questions, and he is honest - my cat is technically due for a dental cleaning, but he told me that it is not necessary right now and gave me some really good suggestions to prevent plaque. It is apparent that him and the rest of the staff really care about people and animals. Everyone was so kind and gave my cat treats to make him more comfortable.
They also do discounted vaccines on Saturdays if you pay with cash!
Highly recommend.

Worst vet I've been to, any state I've lived in. Took my cat in (inside cat) to get checked due to urinating outside of his box. They made me sit outside in my car while they took him in alone and about 20 minutes later, Girgis was agitated and brought the cat back out in a box, said there was no way they could do the testing because my cat wasn't responding well. I told them they didn't give me any choice to come inside with him, and I could have kept him calm in the unfamiliar room so they could do what they needed. My husband just had him in for a physical and the cat was cooperative. These photos are what my cat looked like knocked out inside the box (and soaked in antiseptic, blood on the other side) after they wrestled with him while I was kept outside.
Worse, I had also brought my dog in to get a physical around the same time. They said everything looked good, no issues, nothing to worry about. He started having incontinence very soon after this, and I took him to a different vet who is reporting very high numbers indicative of liver disease or cancer. No way this should have been missed in the short time between the physical and when symptoms presented.
Please, do not go to this clinic. I see good reviews, but do yourself a favor and don't risk it. Go to ECLAP or El Cajon Valley Vet, worth the drive and/or money it might cost you. Fur babies don't deserve neglect of care.
