I’ve been bringing my multiple pets to this clinic for years and years. I’ve never been more disappointed over something so simple they could do, but instead want to be greedy about.
I’ve spent hundreds and hundreds over thousands and even so, I have to pay them another $70 for my cat to have approval and keep eating his necessary special food he has to have if not he gets sick within days.
Recently my orders for my cats required special food stopped getting approved by them, stating I’m not even a client anymore.
I used to buy the food from them even though it was more expensive. I thought I was supporting a small business in the community, but it looks like I was just supporting a greedy company.
Every time they wanted more money than other places for the same job, I paid it in appreciation. But they aren’t the only place in town. In fact, judging by their reviews online now, I get it, why people go elsewhere.
This is horrible, to require I pay more money (when I was coming in to spend hundreds more on vaccines soon anyway) just to approve my cats special food.
Thanks guys. My cat will get sick because you want another $70 for something I paid hundreds already for you to approve in the first place.
What a crappy way to serve your community. Go somewhere else people. Spend your money with a business who cares.

I took my dog to this clinic for the first and last time, because it was a terrible experience. The receptionist was unfriendly and made the visit uncomfortable from the start. It was clear that the focus here is on money rather than genuinely caring for pets. They suggested several unnecessary procedures, making me feel like I was being taken advantage of rather than properly advised for Bobo's health. Overall, it was an expensive and disappointing experience, and I won’t be going back

The vet team was very informative with Mustard’s pre dental cleaning to the post dental cleaning. Since this was his first dental cleaning I was very nervous for him. After I picked him up from the vet he was happy to be home; he ate and relaxed in the open window, took a nap and really had no side effects to the dental cleaning. My only negative experience is the cost of the dental cleaning, which was $530. Ouch!!

This feedback is for anyone considering making this vet clinic their primary choice for their furry family members. When we first moved to the Otay Ranch area, we took our golden retriever, Simba, to this clinic, and initially, the staff was amazing. However, our experience has since taken a turn for the worse.
At our very first appointment, Dr. Bischel examined Simba and prescribed Apoquel for his allergies, telling us that he would need to take these pills for the rest of his life. She mentioned that she even gives the same medication to her own poodle. We were advised to give Simba two pills daily for two weeks due to his severe allergies, and then one pill a day for life, which we followed.
Things started to get confusing when we had an appointment with a different doctor for Simba and my mom's poodle. When we asked if it was okay to give Simba his pills only when his allergies worsened, this doctor said it was fine and not necessary to give them every day. We also inquired about when to do an allergy test for Simba. Initially, we were told to wait until he was 2 years old, then later they said 2 and a half years old, and they never informed us about the possibility of allergy vaccinations.
The real issues began a few months ago when Simba developed mild diarrhea. We had travel plans the next day, so I called the clinic to seek advice and possibly schedule an appointment that same day, knowing we’d be out of the country the following week. They refused to see him and wouldn’t offer any medication until I spoke directly with Dr. Bischel, who eventually advised us to give him Pepto Bismol.
A few days later, when my wife tried to pick up Simba’s regular prescription, the receptionist was rude and stated that they wouldn’t refill the prescription unless we brought him in for a check-up. We checked his records and realized it was indeed time for a check-up, so we scheduled an appointment for the next week and asked to refill his medication in the meantime. They still refused. Even after explaining that Dr. Bischel had prescribed the medication and we needed it, they insisted we bring him in first. When I spoke to Dr. Bischel, she gave excuses about us not buying food and pills from them, which we hadn’t because we found cheaper options elsewhere. Despite her previous recommendations, she refused to provide the medication unless we brought Simba in first. She even suggested we take our records and go elsewhere, which we did.
I cannot recommend this clinic. Eventually, anyone using their services will realize they care more about money than our pets. Insisting on unnecessary frequent check-ups and withholding prescribed medication is unacceptable. Please look for another vet clinic, keep your furry friends, and yourselves healthy.

This vet clinic has terrible customer service, especially at the front desk. The receptionists are rude and unhelpful, making communication between them and the vets a nightmare. It’s clear that they tried to reap me off, than actually taking care of my pet. I wouldn’t trust them. Look elsewhere if you want a vet that truly puts your pet first.
