Will happily go elsewhere (as suggested) - and we did! We are new to Spring Valley and found this vet online for an English Bulldog specialist. 1st impressions are everything, and the 1st impression here by the 2 receptionists was very unwelcoming. We were made to feel as if we were bothering them the second we walked through the door. The lobby is very small and it was empty so a simple greeting would have been nice. Instead, they looked at us and our bulldog and looked annoyed - and no greeting. I approached the 2 women and asked if they took walk ins. Understandably, they do not. What would have been ideal was for them to say no, they don't accept walk-ins, but maybe we could schedule an appointment. What we got was a cold , emotionless statement - " we don't take walk-ins and were booked for a few weeks out. Try the vet down the street." No effort whatsoever, to help us with a possible future appt or to advise us to try calling in the morning for any cancelations, etc. We were turned away immediately. These two ladies were flat out rude and helpless. I would have loved for our EB to see the specialist, but we took her advice and went to Mission Valley Vet. A little further than what we would have preferred and not specifically specialized with English Bulldogs from what I know. But they welcomed us with friendliess and compassion. They were able to get an appt for my boy the very next morning, and we are VERY happy with their knowledgeable services! I'm really happy we took the receptionists advice to go somewhere else :) our boy now has his vet where we call home now!

We visited this vet to prepare for an international flight with our cat. Even though we told them the exact flight date a month ago, they coordinated and scheduled the inappropriate date for our second visit to obtain the health certificate.—The health certificate needs to be issued within 10 days and endorsed by APHIS within 5 days of the travel. The endorsement takes 3 business days (which is a new information you don’t find on USDA’s website and something a USDA-accredited vet should explain), leaving a very narrow time window to have the cat’s health examined.— With the vet scheduling an inappropriate time for our second visit, we’re going to miss our international flight. There were also several other things, including their claim that the USDA Sacramento office being closed though it’s still operating and their refusal to provide us health certificate with the electronic signature instead of the original ink, that prevented us from acquiring the document in time. We lost more than $500 to the vet and $800 for the plane ticket as a result of this. Additionally, the clinic seems to have issues with communication between the doctor and other staffs. In our first visit to obtain the vaccination certificate, they first forgot to write the certificate for us. Then they gave us the certificate without the microchip number. Then they gave us the number but left all other pet information empty. All these information is required yet was missed out despite our requests beforehand on the phone and while discussing with the doctor. In general, I would not recommend this vet for anything important for your pet.

We've used this vet for over 20 years. The chief veterinarian always personally calls us with updates, test results, and any other pertinent info. Extremely friendly, professional yet has a deep compassion and empathy for an Ill pet or otherwise. I would highly recommend this vet. Side note, has a spiritual side to him which comforts my family and me. My relatives also use this vet because of all of the above! Prices are reasonable which reduces any anxiety over costs. We love you guys!! Attached is a photo of Precious Pennisi who you cared for although she's no longer with us. Thank you Dr. Simpson and staff for your ever present kindness and compassion!!
