The annual trip to the vet for an indoor cat is always an ordeal. You know how it goes: they're making sounds from their carrier that could double as the voiceover for the spawn of Satan, and you're trying everything—talking, singing, the radio, silence—just to keep them calm.
What I love about West Coast Animal Hospital is the instant calm I feel as soon as I walk through the doors—a calm that my cat, Lorenzo, feels too. He's calm, mum's calm, we're all calm!
The team there truly make all the difference. Their warmth, kindness, and efficiency meant that before we knew it, we were back home, another annual wellness exam successfully behind us!

All of my life, I have had furry companions whom I have loved. This week, I took Ivan Mittenski to a new vet in his life. It was such a good decision. West Coast Animal hospital from beginning to end was the best vet experience ever. THE best. Ivan was the number one priority for Vet Tech Bree and the Doctor. They did the entire exam on the floor where I had plopped down and rolled over. It was affordable, empathetic and the follow up has been great. Highest possible recommendation.

I’ve been seeing this vet for three years. I have no complaints. They practice evidence based care. They will probably not be the ones to support a raw diet if that’s what you’re into. They have given me meds for my dog when she had separation anxiety and that was so helpful. We see Dr Young but have also seen Dr Coulson. We’ll continue to use this practice until we leave San Diego!

I’ve been going to West Coast Animal Hospital since they opened my dog. DJ was one of their first patients always treated well and will always go there. Recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great place to take your pet. They will take care of you and your pet.

I want the world to know how West Coast Animal Hospital has changed my life emotionally, mentally, spiritually and financially; and how it has been good to both Zoehy 🐩 and her brother Bozzhley 🐕 who since 03/11/2025 is now in Heaven Resting in Peace.
There is so much to say, but in a few words, individuals like Natasha, Nella, Vanessa and Bree have made a huge difference in how I feel about an Animal Hospital; because of the time these individuals take to listen to one over the phone, respond to text messages and or provide insightful information via email, it really puts my mind at ease and it touches my heart that I cry of how grateful I am and how much appreciate each and every person at West Coast Animal Hospital that goes far and beyond for animals; like Zoehy 🐩 and her brother Bozzhley 🐕.
Natasha, Nella, Vanessa and Bree, they are on the front line to Dr. Tia and Dr. Hodgson; and with their help everything is possible for Zoehy 🐩 and it was possible for her brother Bozzhley 🐕 too.
You know what I love about West Coast Animal Hospital, it helps us understand how important it is to save our money for when it is really needed; meaning that they are in it to provide healthcare to our animals versus getting rich off of our animals. They explain all options to pet insurance and how to invest funds for our animals. I don't feel cheated or robbed like I did at another Pet Hospital for Zoehy 🐩 and her brother Bozzhley 🐕.
I see a huge savings of over $700 a year in Zoehy's 🐩 healthcare needs and expenses at West Coast Animal Hospital; and the most rewarding part is that what she is getting at West Coast Animal Hospital she wasn't getting under her Optimal Wellness Plan at the other Pet Hospital. Zoehy 🐩 is being well taken care of by West Coast Animal Hospital.

Zoehy's experience on her first visit was different compared to other visits to a veterinarian. Dr. Tia and Evelyn both approached Zoehy 🐩 with sensitivity and care. I noticed Zoehy feeling stress free and anxiety free; she was very calm and relaxed. I appreciate it that immensely. Front desk was great in customer service, providing me with information and pricing with ease and easy for me to understand what is the best step for Zoehy and her care at West Coast Animal Hospital.
