About Local.Pet

Local.Pet is operated by Local Value, LLC — a California company based in Point Loma, San Diego. We build map-first directories that present real, verifiable information about local businesses without inserting ourselves as the source of truth.

The four brands

We operate four DBAs under Local Value, LLC. Each one targets a different audience but shares the same backend, the same three-source data pipeline, and the same commitment to honest presentation.

Our data stance

We think most directories try to do too much. They edit their own data, they hand-curate, they make judgment calls that pretend to be facts. That's expensive at scale and it's dishonest at every scale.

Local Value is a presentation layer. We fetch what Google Places, the business website, and Yelp already say. We filter obvious garbage (like 404 pages accidentally captured as descriptions, or bogus "$$" ratings on free public beaches). We add category taxonomies and neighborhood context so search actually works. And that's the job — surface the real signal, get out of the way.

If a listing is wrong, the fix happens upstream at Google or the business's own site. Our monthly rescrape picks it up within thirty days. Owners who need help doing that can hire us at $50/hr — that's our business model.
